Illamasqua Lipsticks Review

Recently, I had the opportunity to try out some Illamasqua products and I have such a great story for you!  You can skip to the "review" part if you want to skip my story!

Illamasqua recently launched in Canada within The Bay stores.  Being a beauty junkie, I HAD to get my hands on some products.  This story is quite pleasing.  Keep reading...

I went to the Illamasqua counter at The Bay Yorkdale and I was instantly drawn in by the makeup artist's makeup.  I have never seen a person pull off a green contour so flawlessly.  Actually, I have never seen anyone wear a green contour at all!  The customer service was absolutely amazing and she instantly recommended the perfect neutral lipstick, Climax.

We had a conversation about how to pick the right lipsticks and how people need to be confident when wearing makeup.  I walked out with the lipsticks Climax and Box.  I was in love.

Unfortunately, when I opened the lipsticks, I noticed that they were defective.  The actual lipstick bullets had marks on them.  I knew something was a mistake here!  Being a loud mouth, I tweeted about it.  The matter escalated...the founder of Illamasqua found out...the store manager found out...long story short...I went back into the store and walked out with new Box and Climax lipsticks as well as FIVE free full size products!

The new products were not defective at all.  They were perfect.  I loved the lipsticks so much that I had to review them for you all.

The three Illamasqua lipsticks that I own are Box, Resist and Climax (left to right in all of the pictures).  I am in love!! I love matte lipsticks and all of the Illmasqua lipsticks are matte.

What I really like about these lipsticks are the way they suit my skin tone.  My number one issue when shopping for lipsticks is finding a nude/neutral colour that won't make me look dead!  Climax is perfect for this.  It is a "my lips but better" type of colour!!  Box is literally the perfect red.  It is my go-to high end red lipstick at the moment.  Lastly, although I have only used Resist once this entire fall, it is an amazing pop of colour that can be worn all year round.

The colours are perfect for people with my skin tone (an olive skin tone); and overall, the colours are definitely made to suit any skin tone.

My only concern with these lipsticks is how matte they are.  For people who have very dry lips, I would recommend some chapstick before applying any Illamasqua lipstick.

Ultimately, I love these lipsticks and I recommend them to everyone!  Trust me, you will become loyal!

Here are some pictures and swatches below:

I hope you enjoyed this review!  I love you all!

Keep smiling and stay sweet!
