I Have To Run 5K In Two Weeks And I Just Started Training

So, I have always ran but I take it at my own pace.  I like a combination of walking and running.  I call it interval training, but lets be honest-- its because I get tired!

Last year, I played soccer and I was able to consistently run for a while.  That lasted until I took a soccer ball to my face which consequently made my deviated septum worse.  I literally can't breathe through the right side of my nose and I get frequent sinus headaches, it sucks!

I used to love running and I believe that it is one of the best ways to stay healthy.  Over the past year, I have been extremely out of shape.  I went back to school for a graduate certificate and my main source of nutrition has been pizza.  I made the decision that I will do as many runs as I can this year in order to stay healthy.

School ended on April 21, and after months of working out inconsistently and no running, I have finally decided to train.  My first run was horrible, literally.  I ran in some old tights and a water bottle belt and my tights started to fall off after 1 km, not to mention that I was super tired.  I gave up.  I came home and went to the mall to buy new tights  (shopping therapy always works).

My second run in my new Lululemon tights was so much better.  I started to realize how wearing the right gear really counts.  I managed to run 5 km in 40 minutes.  My third run was in 35 minutes.  My goal is to get under 30 minutes for 5 km, but I do not think I will be able to for this run.

I have decided to write an update after every run to track my progress.

If you all want training tips, I will provide them as well!
